NikPak - END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT (EULA)
==========================================

NikPak (c) 2026 Nicolas Choukroun. All rights reserved.
Distributed and licensed by Nikkoid LLC ("Nikkoid").
Web site and licences: https://nikpak.nikkoid.com/buy.php

NikPak is distributed as SHAREWARE. By installing, copying or using NikPak you
accept this licence. If you do not accept it, delete NikPak.

1. OWNERSHIP
   NikPak (the program nikpak and nikpak.exe, its graphical interface, its
   documentation and the .nik archive format specification) is the
   property of Nicolas Choukroun and is distributed and licensed by
   Nikkoid LLC. You receive a right to use it, not
   ownership. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved.

2. FREE USE BY INDIVIDUALS
   A private individual may use the unregistered (evaluation) copy of
   NikPak free of charge, without time limit, for personal and
   non-commercial purposes. The program shows a reminder that asks you to
   register. Registering with a personal licence (USD 19) removes the
   reminder and supports development.

2a. UNNIK IS FREEWARE
   unNik (unNik.exe), the archive browser and extractor included in the
   NikPak package, is free for everyone - individuals, companies and
   organisations - with no registration and no time limit. The licence
   fees in sections 2 to 4 apply to NikPak (nikpak and nikpak.exe), which
   creates archives, not to unNik. Sections 1 and 5 to 11 also apply to
   unNik; it may be distributed on its own under the conditions of
   section 5.

3. USE BY COMPANIES AND ORGANISATIONS
   Companies, self-employed professionals, public administrations,
   associations, schools and every other organisation, and any
   commercial use, need one company licence per seat. Prices per seat
   (USD): 1-9 seats 19, 10-24 seats 15, 25-49 seats 12, 50-99 seats 9,
   100-199 seats 7, 200-499 seats 6, 500 seats and more 5. A seat is
   one computer on which NikPak is installed or one user who uses it,
   whichever count is higher. Organisations may evaluate NikPak free of
   charge for 40 days. After this period they must buy licences or stop
   using NikPak.

4. REGISTERED VERSION
   A licence key is issued for a name and an e-mail address and is
   personal to its holder (the person, or the organisation for a company
   licence).
   - Personal licence: the holder may use NikPak on all the computers they
     personally own or use.
   - Company licence: the organisation may use NikPak on the number of
     seats shown in the licence.
   The licence key must not be published, shared outside its holder,
   sold or given away. A key that is published may be revoked in future
   versions. A licence is valid for the version purchased and, unless
   stated otherwise at purchase, for all later 1.x versions.

5. DISTRIBUTION
   You may copy and distribute the unregistered evaluation copy freely,
   for example on shareware and download sites, CD/DVD compilations and
   magazines, provided that:
   a) the package is distributed complete and unmodified, with this
      LICENSE.txt and THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt;
   b) no licence key, key file (nikpak.key, license.txt), key generator,
      patch or crack is added to it;
   c) no fee is charged for NikPak itself (a reasonable fee for the media
      or the distribution service is allowed);
   d) NikPak is not presented as your own product, and it is not bundled
      with software that installs itself without the user's clear
      consent (adware, toolbars and the like).
   Nikkoid may withdraw this permission from any distributor.

6. RESTRICTIONS
   You may not modify, translate, decompile or disassemble NikPak,
   except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction (for
   example to obtain the information needed for interoperability). You may
   not remove or bypass the registration check or the reminder, or
   distribute modified copies.

7. YOUR ARCHIVES
   Archives (.nik files) created with NikPak belong to you. No fee or
   royalty is due for creating, distributing or selling .nik archives,
   whether NikPak is registered or not.

8. ENCRYPTION
   NikPak contains strong encryption (Argon2id, XChaCha20-Poly1305). You are
   responsible for complying with the export and use laws of your country.
   A lost password cannot be recovered by Nikkoid or anyone else.

9. NO WARRANTY
   NikPak is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, express or
   implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Keep backups of
   important data. To the extent permitted by law, Nikkoid is not liable for
   any loss of data, profit or other damage resulting from the use or the
   inability to use NikPak. Nothing in this licence limits rights that
   consumers have under mandatory law.

10. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
   NikPak contains open-source components (zstd, liblzma, preflate-rs,
   egui and others) used under their own licences. Their notices are in
   THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt. Those licences apply to those components only.

11. TERMINATION AND LAW
   This licence ends automatically if you break its terms; you must then
   delete every copy of NikPak. This licence is governed by French law.
